The following points are presented:
- Effectiveness of the sensors - Selection of sensors for different nitriding treatments - Process control and analysis
Why sensor-controlled gas nitriding will be accepted more and more?
At carburizing processes the oxygen- or L-probe already became generally accepted for years. By the development of sturdy and insensitive sensors, like our H2-sensor or O2-sensor, we are able to take a look at the current reaction condition of the gas nearby the surface of components as well as the execution of a reproducible nitriding processes via a selective atmosphere control. But, the production of nitriding layers with defined structures presupposes special knowledge of the layer mechanism as well as the measurement and the control of the nitriding potential. By the variation of the nitriding conditions, especially the nitriding temperature and the composition of the reaction gas, it is possible to control, growth, structure and the chemical composition of the session layer.
